Valerio Belardi, Ph.D.
Adjunct Professor, Mechanical Engineering

Valerio is Assistant Professor of Machine Design at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. His research topics are machine design and structural analysis of complex mechanical structures with analytical and numerical modeling approaches. He contributes to research programs in nuclear fusion about the characterization and thermo structural analysis of lattice metamaterials and the definition of design methodologies for components of tokamak reactors. His work also regards the analysis of composite laminates, the development of custom finite element modeling techniques for composite bolted joints, and optimal design methods for composite lattice structures. Other research interests are the stress analysis of welded joints and the simplified simulation of aluminum foams.
