Victor Luchangco, Sc.D.
Associate Professor, Computer Science

Victor Luchangco is a theoretical computer scientist specializing in concurrent computing. He has worked on transactional memory, scalable data structures for shared-memory multiprocessors, blockchain systems, the Fortress programming language, and formal specification and verification of concurrent algorithms and systems.

He is a co-author of the textbook The Art of Multiprocessor Programming (second edition), and was a recipient of the 2022 Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing. He has co-authored over 50 papers and holds more than 50 patents.

Victor received an Sc.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a dissertation on models for weakly consistent memories.

He has worked at the blockchain startup Algorand, and at the research labs of Sun Microsystems and Oracle.
